Entering into a New World: 3 Things to Remember
_____________________________________________________________
Well, the time is come. Georgia is opening back up today and I’m pretty sure we’re going to be facing a new world. After almost two months of a near world-wide shutdown, I can’t say I am upset about the idea of going back to normal. But, what is normal anymore?
_____________________________________________________________
Okay, we all know I’m young. A baby adult, as some would say. Finishing school. Working full time. Adding on a blog. I try to do a lot with my time, but I have a lot of life to get ready for.
With that, I can say that I am pretty used to the fast paced life Americans have been born and bred to love! I come from a family of busy bees. Always striving to get the next thing done and probably holding an overflowing plate, most of the time.
But, a few weeks ago, the world stopped. Kinda. We started shutting down. The government began telling us, more so than average, what we could, or couldn’t, do. They have restricted where we can, or can’t go. And don’t get me wrong- I think there were measures that needed (and still need) to be taken, but watching life as you know it stop… it’s pretty scary.
Seriously.
Driving with only two or three cars on the road, when you’re used to flying with fifty. Or seeing everyone in masks when you walk into a grocery store, where there’s hardly any necessities to buy anyways. Life has gotten weird.
So, what are we walking into when we open back up?
I mean, honestly? Who knows.
Two months ago, you could buy N95 masks from nearly any seller, and now finding one is like stumbling on gold. Toilet paper was the last thing grocery stores ran out of, and now it’s the very first. Name brand hand sanitizer was overstocked on every shelf in every store, and now we have local distilleries trying to mass produce this product, just to help out small business owners in their area.
That’s C R A Z Y.
To me, at least.
But, here’s the thing: we are all doing this together.
With that, I present to you 3 things we need to remember as we enter into a new world:
#1. We are one.
Although we might not have each self-isolated, obeyed the guidelines set in place, or hoarded all the bagel bites, we are all witnessing a new world being formed right before our eyes. Together. As one. And I really do think this is important to remember. No matter how different this has played out in each of our lives, we have gone through a world-wide pandemic together. Now, I don’t think, “Oh, God must have let all this happen for us to come together and make a better world.” But, I do think we need to love harder after this. I think it’s safe to assume we have all had our difficulties, and most will continue to, throughout this. Support your neighbor. However you can. Contribute to society in your best way, because it needs you. We need you. We are one.
#2. This is a first, for everyone.
Do you know anybody who has gone through this before? I don’t. My parents don’t. Their parents don’t. This is a first, for everyone. And, for that, I’m glad. I’m glad this isn’t a ‘thing’ our world goes through every year. (Or even every 50 for that matter.) I’m glad this is the first time every generation of my family has seen this. I pray to God it never happens again, but I am thankful this is a first for everyone I know. Of course, being a first time problem for nearly everyone poses it’s own problems (as in, how to handle absolutely anything going on). But, aren’t you glad this isn’t something you just.. know how to deal with? Aren’t you kinda glad we aren’t experts at living like this? #gratitude
#3. It’s going to be a new world.
I’ve said it so much, but it needs to sink in with all of us. Everything is going to be different. Maybe not forever, but for awhile and especially in the beginning. I mean, before this, people apparently didn’t even wash their hands. (Haha- because there was so much stuff on clean hands in the beginning? Get it? You’re welcome for the giggle.) On a slightly more serious note: it’s really going to be different because we don’t know what we’re doing. None of us do. We don’t know if this is 100% right or 100% wrong. (For all I know, we’ll be on a strict lock down in the next 36 hours.) New information is coming out, changing rules and recommendations every single day. We are all just forming opinions on how we feel, but we do not know the correct answer. If we all did, I wouldn’t be typing up this blog because the problem would have been solved by now.
I digress.
It’s going to be a new world. But, the show must go on.
Eventually.
Whether it be today, in 3 weeks, or in 3 months.
The show must go on, and regardless of when, we will be entering into a new world.

Great words! I really like how easy you are talking about everything that happens around you.
The first 2 weeks after everything started, for me, it was a very hard time… but you know, I didn’t had any other opportunity than only to accept happenings. And after accepting it, it seems not so bad anymore! And I am sure we will all pass through it stronger, smarter, and better!

I feel the same way! It was a very hard realization that I couldn’t go out and do things. (Most importantly, I couldn’t travel to see my boyfriend.) As that is still hard, excepting it has made it easier. We definitely will all come out better! I agree!
